Fencing for Kids

For our youngest fencers, ages 5 to 7, we at Peoria Fencing Academy have what we affectionately call the Musketeer program. Along with basic fencing skills like footwork and bladework, we play games that develop coordination, balance, speed, and sportsmanship. This program will introduce our young fencers to the foil weapon and teach proper fencing techniques using it. The Musketeer program is comprised of three levels to reflect the skill level of the young fencer.

Our goal is to instill these values in our musketeers:

Tiger Program

Prerequisites: Musketeers program (3 months enrollment)

This program designed for our youngest fencers who would like to improve their fencing skills. At the end of the program, the coach conducts a test to confirm that the fencer had mastered the techniques and skills learned.

When you pass the test, you will receive a Tiger patch to put on your fencing jacket.
